You sustain all that lives
we really like to take
but forget who gives
we've got our own motives
and so we're held captive
find temporary things
so attractive
then we get protective
to defend is our objective
we forget the collective
'til we change our perspective
Your dazzling effulgence
is creating a disturbance
the absence of your presence
is Mother Earths burden
and I'm certain if that curtain
is lifted from our eyes
then the hurting you'll be curbing
because love will arise
but we know we must desire
and aspire for that prize
you inspire to rise higher
when we inquire from the wise
what we learn is you turn
the entire universe
you stay in one place
but your energies disperse
the source of all lighting
and the Supersoul within
the Brahman
Paramatma
everything that's manifesting
but you're the reservoir
from whom these things come
so let us pierce through the light
so we can reach the sun (son)
of Nanda
and Yasoda
the pinnacle
of all the different systems of yoga
hiraṇmayena pātreṇa
satyasyāpihitaṁ mukham
tat tvaṁ pūṣann apāvṛṇu
satya-dharmāya dṛṣṭaye
Many have said
that they've seen the light
felt an overwhelming bliss
that they couldn't describe
I wouldn't dismiss
those claims of what they see
'cause the aspects of the Absolute
come in three degrees
the light's the brahmajyoti
but water for the soul
is the personality
we need that taste
coz although we're encased
even the most hard-hearted
just craves to be embraced
so faced with that prospect
base the intellect
on reconnecting
with the source of all pleasure
and sing
because love we cannot measure
only realizing
through personal expression
so spiritual progression
that the smart impart
is make Him your obsession
let the sweetness steal your heart
some observe the Lord's
glories from a distance
some serve in person
offering Him assistance
some become friends
they play full of joy
some become His parents
treat Him like a boy
some become His lovers
pretty high notions
based on eternal exchange of emotions
Isn't that what you and I try to seek?
The science of the self
will help us reach that peak
So Lord
please remove that dazzling light
so Your personal form
comes into my sight
