when we aren't even reaching
for the source of the sun
the moon, the stars
but we're teaching
that love is just
combination of the brain
but however much discussed
can't explain away the pain

I've got ignorance
up in my mind
ignorance
going down my spine
ignorance surrounding me
I'm ignorant
like all the time
but sometimes I wonder just who is the boss
if I find Him, will I pay the cost
my bliss is tied up so tight to my thoughts
if I think too much then I'll surely be lost
tell me who I need to be
so I can see what I need to see
so I can clear my mind and find them answers that are escaping me
self-made gods keep us blind
work all day too pressed for time
to think about thinking about them thoughts that take us
to that truth that we need to find
andhaḿ tamaḥ praviśanti
ye 'vidyām upāsate
tato bhūya iva te tamo
ya u vidyāyām ratāḥ
We practice avoidance of all the evidence
that this place is a temporary residence
where some are made to slave
and some are presidents
but a permanent solution
should take precedence
our civilization keeps on increasing
we're buying and fighting and it's never ceasing
so we're crying and crying
and we're locked with a leasing
empty promises that are always teasing
due to our neglect
of cultivating spiritual intellect
most important aspect of our existence
but we feel the pain when we have resistance
don't follow a path that is oh so dangerous
find people that love, you'll find it's contagious
then free, from death's cruel hands
and as the love increases, the heart expands

ye 'vidyām upāsate
tato bhūya iva te tamo
ya u vidyāyām ratāḥ
